What can our psychological support do for you?

The main objective is to teach patients to overcome difficulties related to ocular prosthesis, achieve greater self-control and self-esteem and help them lead a full and healthy life.

The psychological support consists in training patients to learn skills and strategies to respond in an appropriate manner and favour their daily problems. The therapy is individual and personal, the person being our main objective, so that he assumes an active role during the session. However, we believe that the family, school and work takes on an importance in the evolution of the patient, so there is also continued support in these different environments.

Psicóloga, Sofía Mª Reyes Rosón What and How?

Psychological therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. During the first sessions evaluations are carried out where the different symptoms have been established, and so make a diagnosis of the patient and decide the most appropriate techniques for the future evolution of the individual.

The ultimate goal of therapy is to give the patient a greater autonomy, independence and well-being to take on and solve their problems.

Who is it intended for?

Children, teenagers and adults with ocular prosthesis who need a psychological support either specific in time or continuous.
Therapy is also aimed at people with hearing impairment, users of the Spanish sign language.
